How Can I Refresh My Lemon Tree

My new lemon tree was getting established and had started sprouting new leaves. It got “trimmed” by a passing Deer, the tree is still alive but lost all the new leaves. Since that point, it is still alive and I have built a cage around it, but see no signs of new growth, Is there anything specific I can do to help it recover?
