Q.How Can I Get My Hedge To Thicken Out?
We had a new build property and it seems the builders planted to different types (different characteristics) of Portuguese laurel in our hedge. Some thick and some tall and spindly. Is there a way to best thicken out our hedge? Many thanks.

Clipping the ends of the branches will encourage it to branch out. You may need to clip regularly to keep the growth in check, but it may sacrifice the flower buds. Wait till the end of winter or early spring to start clipping since you are coming up on winter.
