How Can I Get My ‘Burning Bush’ Plant’s Leaves To Become Rich & Dark Green?

I planted a Burning Bush from a pot about 10 years ago. But during the summer months the leaves never turn dark green. The Fall season brings the brilliant Red leaves the plant derives its name from but I’m concerned it may not be healthy.

Unfortunately, your photo did not come through. Depending on the exact cultivar, some have leaves that remain colored, or even on the yellow side.

Otherwise, you will need to test your soil for pH imbalances or deficiencies. Some plants will exhibit red coloration with phosphorus deficiency, or acidic soil. In the case of this shrub… That is not a good way to diagnose deficiencies, since it will be colored to a degree, already.
