Q.How Are Sycamore Ground Covers To Be Trimed Without Killing Them Or Stopping Them From Growing?

Zone 19711 | Bobholst added on November 20, 2019 | Answered

Got a new house where the original owner had mixed species of various sycamore ground covers. What is the generic method of trimming ground covers by 3-4 feet of height?

I'm not aware of any Sycamores that grow in a crawling, ground cover manner. They are upright trees, most of which get very tall.

As a general rule, you will only want to trim 1/3 of a plant at any one time. There are some exceptions, but sycamore trees follow this rule.
