How and when should I prune my potted hibiscus plant?

Generally, you can prune a potted hibiscus in either fall or in early spring. These are the best times.

All you need to do is use a sharp, clean pair of pruners and remove any diseased branches, then beyond this you can just prune to shape the plant as you please.
