Q.houseplant care

Anonymous added on July 31, 2015 | Answered

A leaf broke off my plant. I put it in some water and it has a root with new leaf. Why is the new leaf turning yellow? Is my plant dying? What should I do?

Depending on the type of plant you are rooting, it may not do well in water. Once it has a root and new growth, it is ready for soil. It would be best to move it to that medium. In water, at this stage, it may be getting too much water and this is why it is turning yellow.
