Q.Hot Peppers Have No Flavor

Anonymous added on August 10, 2013 | Answered

Habanero and Jalapeno peppers do not have any flavor. Good growth, but not hot. Large pepper, but not many seeds inside pepper. Used Miracle Grow fertilizer and we have had a lot of rain this summer. What should I do? Do you think this is insuffcient nutrients?

You answered the question...a lot of rain. Peppers have more heat and flavor in dry, hot summers. Herbs and a lot of vegetables just don't have the deep flavor when grown in 'stressful' growing conditions. The oils that contain the flavor have been replaced by water.
