Q.Hostas
Can I cut some of the outside leaves off my Hostas, they are shading some of my other plants

You can certainly trim back a Hosta with no issue to the plant. Try not to remove more then 1/3 of the leaves, as any more trimming could stress the plant.
I often cut Hosta leaves and place in vases for indoors, they are very long lasting as 'cuts'!
