Hosta tips getting damaged with cold.
If the Hosta starts to show its tips in early spring and then a cold snap occurs, sometimes the tips get burnt then the plant has disfigured leaves. Can the Hosta be cut back at that time?

I would only cut back growth that has almost fully died and turned brown. You can leave these alone for now, as they will likely replace them as soon as the weather remains warm.
