hosta problem

One of my many hosta plants is in a pot with plenty of room, but its growth over the last couple of years is getting less and less, l have tried changing the soil, but this year you can barely see a few shoots.

Your hosta may be suffering from crown rot or root rot. If your plant is outside and you’ve experienced a long period of wet weather, this could be the cause. Or (again, if the plant is outside), you may have an unwanted visitor (rabbit or deer) nibbling at the new growth. Your plant could also simply be in need of splitting, but don’t attempt to split it unless you’re positively certain it’s not diseased.
