Hose Pipes

Hi, I’m a GCSE student and I’m currently doing a project on garden hoses – where I am aiming to create a hose which uses rainwater and has an automated function when the air temperature gets to a certain point.

Anyway – I have been searching online for some facts and information on hoses – but can’t seem to find much. wondering if you answer a few questions:

Do you think hoses use up too much water?

How much would it cost for an hour of watering with a hose?

Hm. It would seem that hose diameter might affect how much water is being used, as well as the water pressure in your area. Restricting flow, or using them with a sensor to detect moisture will prevent using too much water.

As far as the cost- I’m sure that the cost of water is much different in your country than it is mine. I would have to recommend contacting your local agency responsible for the water in your area to inquire on pricing.
