Homegrown Wheatgrass Without Soil

Question

How to keep the fungus off? During the soil-less growing of wheat seeds at home, usually I find black or white fungus. I want to know how to get rid of it and keep the roots white.

Watering from the base of the Wheatgrass will help.
Also having some air circulation.
