Holly Bushes

I have two holly bushes that look like the leaves have been stripped from some of the branches. I do not see any bugs or worms on any of the brushes. Each year they start off great and then it looks like they’re trying to die because of the stripping of the leaves. Any suggestions? Thank you for your help.

It sounds like the plants have a fungus that is causing leaf drop. There are a few that can do this, but they all can be treated with a fungicide. Treat the plants with a fungicide.

If there is not much else in the way of vegetation in the area, it could also be deer. While this is not a plant of choice for them, they will eat it if they have not many other choices and they will strip the plant of its leaves.
