Q.Holly berries

Anonymous added on November 11, 2014 | Answered

I have two Red Beauty holly trees. I planted them in spring along with a Blue Prince male holly. The Red Beauties came into berry. But why would the berries dry up? We are not in a drought. We have had a good bit of rain in the past month.

If you have had large amount of rain, it is possible that the roots are flooded. When roots can't "breathe", the plants act much like they are not getting enough water. Check the drainage in the area and work to improve it if you find it is a bit swampy.
