Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI am wondering if Holly is a good choice to border my property as a “wall” hedge? And if so what type of Holly would be best in my area? I have arborvitaes but they are older and dying. I want more of a tall bush than a tree so it would prevent entry to my property as well as privacy. I like berries for the birds and if they are okay for my free range chickens to eat that would be best. It is hard to find this info on my computer for some reason. I live in Oregon/97022. Can you help me? Thanks. Bobbi

You are in growing zone 8b.
Dragon Lady and Yaupon Holly are both good hedge varieties to use.
Both are suitable in your zone.
I should caution you that Holly berries are considered toxic to chickens.
