Q.Hollow stalks of rhubarb

Zone Kingsport, TN. 37664 | Anonymous added on May 7, 2017 | Answered

I am cutting my first stalks of rhubarb today, and all of the stalks are hollow. What is wrong? Did a wait too long to cut it? Is It any good to use in pies? I live in NE TN. These two plants are 3 years old. Thanks, Becky

Yes, the later harvesting resulted in hollow stems. Don't worry you can still use the Rhubarb.
