Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comAfter 5 years living in my home, I recently found holes in my garden lawn and soil approx 2-inch diameter and 1-2 inches deep. See photos. I’m concerned because my grandchildren play in the garden a lot. I would appreciate your help in finding out what caused these holes.

If I had to venture a guess I would say these shallow divots in your lawn turf are caused by either a skunk or raccoon searching for insects or a squirrel burrowing or retrieving food.
