Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI received a hibiscus plant for Mother’s Day. My son repotted it for me, fertilized and watered it. I’ve kept it moist since then. In spite of this, there’s a couple of large areas of wilting leaves and buds on the hibiscus. What is causing this? The plant is on southern exposure that receives about 6-7 hours of sunlight a day. I’m in zone 4. Thank you.

It sounds like there may be air pockets in the soil. Flood the pot with water until the water runs out the bottom and then press firmly down on the top of the soil to collapse any pockets in the soil.
