Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a hibiscus tree that is pretty healthy, I think, because it grows like crazy and blooms well. I can’t find any info on how to keep the seedlings under control. It has hundreds of little seedlings around it almost all summer long and now I’m finding them in other areas of the yard. I pull them out individually but honestly I could spend half my life pulling these plants out. Do you know of a good way to keep these buggers under control or am I stuck pulling them (or getting rid of the big plant)?

Keeping the spent flowers dead headed can help the plant from reseeding.
Unfortunately the only safe way to remove the seedlings is to hand pull them.
You can ‘paint’ the cut ends of the seedlings with a herbicide, though this task is quite time consuming and the risk of herbicide damage to other plant material is pretty high.
