Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comWe have a beautiful 7′ hibiscus plant and 3 smaller ones that we enjoyed all summer long. Now it’s too cold for them to be outside in Wisconsin and we have no room to bring them indoors. What do we do with them? Is there any way to keep them alive through the winter? Can the big one be cut back so we can bring it indoors?

While most pruning is done in spring, it will not hurt to give it a trim as long as you’re keeping the plant inside over winter. You can trim as needed but no more than a third and I would wait until after it’s finished flowering.
