Hibiscus Plants

A friend said the Hibiscus plants need a lot of water. However, the leaves are turning yellow and I think that is because of too much water. Please tell me why they are yellow and plant is NOT blooming.

Hibiscus can turn yellow for many reasons. If it is indoors, it likely a combination of a lack of light, cooler temperatures and low humidity. This is what triggers the plant to go into dormancy and lose leaves. Keeping a hibiscus indoors is really just to get them through the winter to spring. You can try to provide more light and humidity, though I would only water when the soil is dry to the touch on top, as their water needs decrease when they are semi-dormant. Once the weather gets warm and you can put it outside, it will rebound quickly.
