Hibiscus plant leaves turning yellow

What do I do if I have no AC and it’s very hot? How do I help my hibiscus and prevent it from dying? My husband recently passed away and now have a lot of bills to pay so can’t afford an AC yet. Please help me because it is one of the very few things that is giving me any kind of joy when it flowers. Thank you.

I am so sorry for your loss and understand that one more loss, even a plant, can feel like too much to handle! Hibiscus are tropical plants so they should do OK in hot weather if enough water is supplied. Perhaps you can provide it with some shade during the hottest hours. Can you post a picture?
