Hibiscus Need Trimming

Question

I have two beautiful hibiscus planted in my covered garden. Do I need to trim them back and prepare for winter in September like I do for my roses?

For hibiscus growing outdoors, I would not prune them back right now, as this will encourage new growth which could get damaged by the winter cold. These plants are best pruned back in spring.
