Hibiscus in Winter

I have a hibiscus that was planted outside. In the winter time, how can I keep it outdoors without the cold killing it?

Hardy hibiscus plants need little care over winter and are hardy to Zone 5 with no protection. If you have a tropical hibiscus, it must be container grown and brought indoors during winter unless you live in Zone 9 or higher. These plants will not tolerate more than a night or two of light freezes. Even one hard freeze (below 25) could kill the plant.
