Hibiscus Flowering

Question

My husband bought me a beautiful hibiscus tree, which we planted in a pot and keeps in a nice, well lit area (by window), and it appears to be doing well. However, it has not bloomed for the last 6 months or so. He has pruned it some, as it was getting out of control, still no blooming. It stands about 5 feet tall and is in a nice size container and I water it almost on a daily basis. Is there any secret that would help with the blooming? When it does bloom, the flowers are simply awesome.
