When the hibiscus flower turns brown and wilts, should it be left or cut off?

While you can deadhead if desired, this practice is not necessary. Your hibiscus plant will be fine left as is. The spent blooms will drop on their own.
Yes, you can cut back the spent blooms and stems but leaves the foliage to die down naturally.
