Q.Hibiscus Care

Anonymous added on May 19, 2014 | Answered

My hibiscus is doing fine here in Atlanta. But it needs to be cut back a little here and there. I read some place how to trim it back so that it will generate more flowers one way and more foliage the other. Can you tell me which way to get more flowers? Thanks a lot.

This article will help wtih pruning hibiscus: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/hibiscus/tips-for-pruning-hibiscus-plants-when-to-prune-hibiscus.htm As for producing more blooms, this has more to do with fertilizer than pruning. More nitrogen produces heavier foliage while more phosphorus results in additional blooms, though regular deadheading of spent blooms will also encourage more blooms.
