Hibiscus care

Zone Niles. Mi. 49120andra.springsteen@comcast.net | Anonymous added on September 20, 2017 | Answered

I live in Michigan an have several hibiscus plants that have bloomed beautifully this summer. Should I cut the bushes back before freezing or wait till spring? Also is there anything else I need to do to ensure they survive the winter? Thank you

It would be a good idea to prune off any dead or dying growth, and deadhead any spent flowers. Here is an article with more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/hibiscus/
