Q.Hibiscus

Anonymous added on December 23, 2014 | Answered

If the hibiscus is left outside in temps that gets below 32, and all the leaves fall off, is the plant dead? Or can it be pruned and brought back? When I pruned them, the limbs were green.

If the limbs still show green, it is still alive. I would not prune the plant until spring, however, as this could lead to additional cold damage. If the hibiscus is a hardy type, then it will be fine outdoors to zone 5. Tropical hibiscus plants need to be overwintered inside though and cannot tolerate cold.
