Hibiscus

Can a hibiscus plant be grown year round indoors? And, will it bloom? We’ve had them before, growing outdoors, but when we brought them in, we found that they were infested with very small white insects. We were unable to combat the problem and had to dispose of the plants. We don’t want to repeat this.

If you can ensure adequate light and growing conditions, then yes, they can be indoors year round, though most enjoy spending their summers outside. If pests are an issue, you can treat them with neem oil, which we have found very effective against numerous insect pests. The white insects you had issues with were likely whiteflies and common with these plants. Neem oil will help with these too.
