Hibiscus

I have a hibiscus in a 1′ sq. plastic pot in 10″ of soil with plenty of daylight. It has been blooming steadily for over a month but the blossoms do not last longer than 2 days. There is a scale on the blossom base befoe it blooms. I water 2x a week or more, as the soil is hard and the room warm. What should I do?

Hibiscus blooms never last long, so this is normal. But if you are seeing a pest at the base of the flowers, this could indicate something is shortening their already short blooms. It is likely either thrips, scale or aphids.
