I have a plant that was left outside in its pot,when the winter got cold .when the winter warms up if I cut it down is there a hope that it will come back. I live in east Texas.

Yes. It does have a chance at surviving. Just keep it indoors until the weather warms back up. take care of it as you would normally. It will be in a dormant state until spring more than likely. When it warms up, then you can trim the dead parts.
