hibiscus

I had a hibiscus for about 7 years. In early fall it died. I trimmed it down, hoping it will grow again this year. Is there anything I should do to help this process along? It gave such beautiful flowers.

We probably won’t know if your hibiscus returns from the dead until probably late May or early June as hibiscus are one of the last perennials to emerge. New growth will emerge from below the soil, provided the roots are still alive. I would continue to care for your hibiscus as you have done for the past 7 years, just make sure it gets watered and fertilized. Guidelines on hibiscus care are in the articles below:
