Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comMy hibicus is covered with buds. They usually fall off before opening. I feed them with Miracle Gro every 2 weeks but not happy with the blooming. We have very few blooms (1 or 2) & then buds are on the ground. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Years ago, a “little old lady” told me, “Honey, you need to fertilize weekly, weakly.” I’ve never forgotten, and now say it often. Always follow package directions. But, I’m also a proponent of the idea of diluting the package’s recommendations to 25% and administering four time more often. (Ie, 2 teaspoons fertilizer to 1 gallon water, once a month…i’d use 1/2 teaspoon weekly.) I’ve found a well-balanced fertilizer is better for plants than one with wide differences in NPK%’s. I prefer 20-20-20 or 10-10-10. This article should help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/hibiscus/hibiscus-flowers-hibiscus-blossoms-falling-off-plant.htm [1]
