Help With Selection Of Planting

Question

My daughter has moved into a house for college and the back is surrounded by tall pine trees. Unfortunately, you can see through the bottom to the unsightly apartment building behind them and their garbage bins, plus I don’t want people to see in their yard either. What can we plant in between these trees that will help shield it year round?
