Q.Help With Repotting Christmas Cactus

Inherited by mothers Christmas cactus at least 30 years old. all Need to be repotted. Plants are bonded to current pots. Very large and many woody like stems. Hardly any real viable dirt left. Afraid to try and pull them out of current pots. can you help?
