Q.Help With Controlling Hairy Galinsoga
My 60′ x 35′ home garden has been over-run with hairy galinsoga. This year I left the plot barren but shallow till it once a month when the weeds begin to grow again but before they go to seed. Will this method help eradicate the weed. I’m considering covering the plot with black plastic next summer. How many summers do you think I would need to cover the plot to eradicate the area of this “weed from hell”? Last fall I planted winter wheat. Is there a better cover crop I should sow to help control this weed? Typically, I just raise sweet corn, squash, and half runner green beans. Tomatoes don’t do well. The garden gets a lot of shade due to trees and hills on either side.
