Help with a failing Tropical Hibiscus

I have a beautiful tropical Hibiscus that is losing its leaves and I think I may lose it if I don’t help. I have used good drainage soil and keep up with watering. We move it indoors in the fall. The plant is 5 years old.

It’s time to play detective. The most likely source of problems in potted plants is water. A good tool to use is a moisture meter, to make sure the soil down near the bottom of the pot is neither too dry nor too wet. Good drainage soil? I hope that means potting soil with a hefty amount of sand or perlite in it. Do you fertilize? Could be too much or too little. What do the leaves look like when they fall? Green, yellow, spotted, brown on edges? Do they feel sticky or have white stuff on leaves or stems? There are so many possibilities, and if you could give me more clues, I might be able to help more. At this point, I can give you a couple of articles that might help you figure out the kinds of fixes you can try.
