Zone East Sussex | lynnwilby@talktalk.net added on July 29, 2021 | Answered

The grapes (vitus flame) have a white powdery covering. some are maturing early and most have split. Also there is a strange growth. My photos are not the best but are attached.

IT is infected with one of the many gall producing insects. Insecticides may help with the infestation, but it is not likely fatal.

Any infections, such as powdery mildew, will be from the insect infestation. A fungicide will be necessary.

Thanks, although there are no galls on the leaves but something that looks like a bunch of leaf stalks growing together.
