Q.Hello! My question is about Caladiums. Do the colors such as pink and red as on the Fancy Leaf occur in wild Caladiums? Meaning un
cultured Caladiums growing wild where they originate in the South American rainforests? (Not sure if uncultured is the right word? Not first language.) I tried to find pictures but find only greenleafed Caladium when photographed in the rainforrest. If Caladiu ms occur with colors other than green when they grow wild in the rainforest could I have the names (preferably latin) for some of them? Thank you for this service!
The genus Caladium includes seven species, which are indigenous to Brazil and to neighboring areas of South America and Central America. They grow in open areas of the forest and on the banks of creeks and go dormant during the dry season.
