Helleri Holly

Our Helleri Hollys are about 35 years old. We live in central NC. Some of the leaves are
turning brown. Is the plant dying or will the leaves grow back in the spring. Some of the plants
have died. Should they be cut back? they are about 3 to 4 ft. tall.

This is usually a sign of infection. You can help this by adding both dolomitic lime, and wettable sulfur to the soil. This will kill off any infection, and condition the soil back to where it needs to be. You can cut out any affected growth about a day after the first treatment.
