Q.hedge that is some variety of jasmine

Zone 2745 | blacklocks added on August 12, 2017 | Answered

we have had a beautiful jasmine(not sure what type)hedge for many years and about a month ago my husband gave it a “crew cut” where he had only ever tidied it up previously. Now the front of the hedge looks dead and only the stems show through what can we do.

Early spring pruning is recommended on Jasmine. Cut older canes to ground level and newer growth to a strong outside bud, varying the lengths of pruned branches.
If you have pruned down to old wood with no growth, you will be left with bare branches.

You may just have to wait it out to see how the shrubs regrow and make corrections next spring.
