Q.Hedge
Hi Hope you can help, I am the caretaker of a residential development in east London, we have a raised garden area, we need to plant a hedge of some sort to reach a height of approx. 2.5 metres, we have 20 metal planters, size 95cm long, 30cm wide, 40 cm deep, quite narrow, we are not sure what to plant we have been advised of : Oleaster hedging, what do you think?, we like the idea of being evergreen with colour and bee friendly Thanks

The oleander will get taller than you want and will require pruning. A rose of Sharon would be about the right height, but if your area gets below freezing for very long they would die back in winter, but return in spring. Same for lilac hedge. But according to weather averages, it rarely freezes in London.
