Q.Hawthorn Tree With Very Few Leaves And Mildew
Hi, I have a beautiful English Hawthorn Tree with mildew and very few leaves. It is suggested I prune offending branches and spray with anti fungal and also to apply ammonium sulphate. Can you tell me whether this is correct and what time of year to do this? and if you have any other suggestions such as additional feeding Much obliged Ruth hopkins

You don't need to cut off any limbs. This year, remove all the fallen leaves and destroy. Next year apply a fungicide at bud break and every 10 days during wet weather. Stop spraying when weather gets dry.
