Having Problems With My Mums

I live in Alabama. Something is eating the bloom/bud off of my mums and leaving a stalk. Some have dead sections in them. It’s not deer. Could it be slugs, and if so, what can I do?

While they normally prefer the foliage, it is likely slugs. This article will help:

In addition to slugs, there are a few caterpillars that enjoy feasting on these plants. Bt can help take care of these pests. Here is more info: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/using-bacillus-thuringiensis.htm [2]
