Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comHave a very healthy Hosta but it is getting too large for its pot and I would like to split it. Can I and when is the best time? Alternatively, should I just put it in a larger pot when it dies off? Thank you.

This is a lovely hosta!
The best time and easiest time is in the spring when the shoots are just emerging.
It is possible the spilt the plant now, but it is more difficult.
You can tie the leaves up to keep them out of the way.
You also will have to water often and carefully until the divided plants recover.
Here is a great link.
