peach tree with large areas of oozing sap

Question

Have a peach tree with large areas of oozing sap and looks like black-brown areas in center of oozing areas on trunk. Need to know what this may be and what to use to clear it up. Does produce OK but occasional fruit is not normal. Had it for several years. Tree is about 4 years old.

Your tree may have Peach tree borers.
