Q.Has Anyone Tried Black Plastic Or Cardboard To Smother Grubs Before They Become Japanese Beetles? (or Any Other Success Ideas)

I think that this would be possible, but you would have to do it so often that nothing would be able to grow on the land. Any of the other options, from organic to chemical, will have lasting effects that will allow the lawn to grow while reducing how often you have to treat.
