harvesting cucumber

When I harvest a cucumber by cutting the small cucumber, the vine shrivels and dies. What am I doing wrong?

If you have additional cucumbers on the vine that are shriveling and dying, this may be attributed to poor pollination rather than anything you have done. This article will help:
