Harvesting Broccoli

Question

This is the first time I have ever grown broccoli and it looks ready to harvest, except the actual ‘head’ is just tiny- maybe only an inch or two wide. It looks nothing like the kind you buy at the grocery store. Did I do something wrong,  and should I still cut it? The florets are about the size of a match head?
